Ms. Marvel’s Iman Vellani Confirms She’s Starring in Another MCU Project

Ms. Marvel’s Iman Vellani has confirmed that she’ll appear in another MCU project.

Speaking with Polygon, Vellani was asked if she has any idea when Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel will next be seen within the MCU or if she’s been “assured” that her character will still have a presence in future Marvel movies and television series.

“I have been assured,” Vellani answered. “So that feels good, but there was no more assurance than that. They give me breadcrumbs, and I try and make a meal out of it.”

Vellani first portrayed Kamala Khan in the Ms. Marvel series. Released onto Disney+ in 2022, the series, which was created by Bisha K. Ali, also starred Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, and Laurel Mardsen.

She then reprised her role as Kamala in 2023’s The Marvels, which was directed by Nia DaCosta and co-starred Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau.

Is Marvel setting up a Young Avengers project?

The post-credit scene of The Marvels hints that Vellani may be involved in a forthcoming Young Avengers project, as she’s seen recruiting Kate Bishop/Hawkeye (Hailee Steinfeld) for a new superhero team.

While no such project has been officially confirmed by Marvel at this time, there’s no shortage of young superheroes currently active in the MCU — Cassie Lang/Stature (Kathryn Newton), America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez), Riri Williams/Ironheart (Dominique Thorne), Kid Loki (Jack Veal), and more — who could also be a part of a potential team.

It’s also possible that Ms. Marvel could have a presence in the two upcoming Avengers movies, one of which releases in 2026 and was formerly titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars.

Both Ms. Marvel and The Marvels are currently streaming on Disney+.
