Superman: Legacy Gets Name Change, Photo of Suit

Superman: Legacy is no longer the name of the upcoming DC Universe debut film, according to director and DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn.

In a recent post on the Instagram social media site Threads, Gunn revealed that the film was now officially titled Superman, and had begun principal photography today.

“When I finished the first draft of the script, I called the film Superman: Legacy,” wrote Gunn. “By the time I locked the final draft, it was clear the title was Superman. Making our way to you July 2025. Happy Birthday, Clark!”

Gunn also shared an image that gave fans their first look at the Superman suit and its iconic “S” logo. In the image, Superman’s chest can be seen covered in snow.
