Jason Momoa Teases Costume Idea for DC’s Lobo

Aquaman star Jason Momoa shared what he would like to see custom-made for Lobo should he play the alien bounty hunter in the DCU.

“What’s Lobo got? He’s got the great chain with the sickle on it, right? He’s got the chain and the hook,” Momoa said in an interview with ScreenRant while promoting his Max documentary series On the Roam. “I mean, obviously, we’re going to have to do stuff like that. But I’d throw in something kind of custom. A custom piece. I’d have to think about that. That’s a good question. I’d have to think about what I would make.”

Momoa’s interest in the Czarnian bounty hunter dates back to when he collected Lobo comics in his youth. The actor expressed how the character was his all-time favorite DC anti-hero and believes that playing the role on the big screen would be perfect for him if DC Studios makes an offer.

“I mean, listen, if they call me and ask me to play it? It’s a f— yeah,” Momoa said in an interview with Fandango. “But, I mean, that’s a guarantee. So, you don’t have to worry about that. But, I haven’t received that call. So, I don’t want to put any fake news out there, but if they ever call me and ask me to play or ask me to audition, I’m there.”

Jason Momoa’s future in the DCU

Since Warner Bros.’s appointment of James Gunn and Peter Safran as the CEOs of DC Studios in 2022, Momoa’s name has been linked to Lobo as the new regime prepares to move away from the DCEU era of movies. During the press tour for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Momoa expressed little optimism about resuming his role as Arthur Curry as reports speculate that the actor could be announced as the DCU’s Lobo as early as 2024. Though WB has not confirmed the development of a Lobo movie, Safran assured fans that Momoa has a home in the DCU “for many years to come.”

Momoa’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is now playing in theaters.
