Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is getting a limited rerelease in IMAX theaters this January.
On Twitter, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse co-writer Christopher Miller confirmed the Marvel superhero movie will return to limited IMAX screens on January 19, 2024.
“If you didn’t get a chance to catch ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE on the big screen – where you can see the jaw-dropping level of detail & innovation lovingly put into every frame – you’ve got another chance!” Miller wrote. “It’s returning to IMAX for a limited release on January 19th. Don’t miss it!”
Which cities the movie will be playing in and how long of a rerelease the movie will receive is not immediately clear at this time.
What is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse about?
“Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” reads the synopsis. “After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.”
A sequel to 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, with Phil Lord and Dave Callaham having co-written the script alongside Miller. Lord and Miller also produce the movie alongside Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Christina Steinberg with Alonzo Ruvalcaba.
The film’s vocal cast includes Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, Jason Schwartzman as The Spot, Issa Rae as Spider-Woman, Karan Soni as Spider-Man India, and Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man 2099.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse returns to IMAX theaters on January 19, 2024. The movie is also currently streaming on Netflix.
