Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Reveals Bloody Poster: ‘Bow to Your New King’

A new poster for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has been revealed.

Posted on Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’s official Instagram account, the new poster for the upcoming sequel sees King Kong’s face pictured within a bloody handprint. “Bow to your new king,” both the poster and caption read.

The new Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire poster comes just one day after the MonsterVerse movie released a separate poster teasing, “Something is coming.” A trailer for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire might soon be on the way, as Warner Bros. is hosting a panel for the movie at CCXP in Brazil this coming weekend.

What is Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire about?

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire marks the fifth film in Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ MonsterVerse — following 2014’s Godzilla, 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong. Additionally, there have been two television series set within the MonsterVerse, 2023’s Skull Island and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, the latter of which is currently airing on Apple TV+.

“This latest entry follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own,” the synopsis for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire reads. “The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.”

Directed by Adam Wingard, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire stars Dan Stevens, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Kaylee Hottle, Fala Chen, Alex Ferns, and Rachel House.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire releases in United States theaters on April 12, 2024.
