Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom Video Highlights DC Movie’s Globe-Trotting Spectacle

A new Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom featurette highlights the upcoming DCEU film’s globe-trotting spectacle.

Shared by Rotten Tomatoes Trailers, the new featurette for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom sees some of the cast members explain James Wan’s epic vision for the upcoming film. “The glory of this movie is the spectacle, the color, and the visuals,” Patrick Wilson says in the video. “It is this globe-trotting adventure that Jason [Momoa] and I have.”

Wan also says in the video, “You have these characters that you can relate to, you can identify with. You can take them on this weird and crazy journey through all these different, strange worlds.”

What is Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom about?

“After failing to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta wields the power of the mythic Black Trident to unleash an ancient and malevolent force,” the synopsis reads. “Hoping to end his reign of terror, Aquaman forges an unlikely alliance with his brother, Orm, the former king of Atlantis. Setting aside their differences, they join forces to protect their kingdom and save the world from irreversible destruction.”

Directed by Wan, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom stars Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Wilson as Orm, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Amber Heard as Mera, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, and Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom marks the final entry in the DCEU, which began in 2013 with Man of Steel. Following the film’s release, James Gunn and Peter Safran are creating a new DCU, which begins in 2024 with the animated Creature Commandos series.

With a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom releases in United States theaters on December 22, 2023.
