Skyler Gisondo and Sara Sampaio are joining the DCU in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman: Legacy movie.
Per Deadline, Sampaio has been cast as Eve Teschmacher in Superman: Legacy. Created by Richard Donner and Mario Puzo, Eve Teschmacher first appeared in 1978’s Superman and 1980’s Superman II as Lex Luthor’s assistant, who then later turned into his love interest. The character was played by Valerie Perrine in the first two Superman movies, while Andrea Brooks portrayed her in The CW’s Arrowverse.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gisondo has also been tapped to play Jimmy Olsen, Clark Kent/Superman’s best pal who works as a photographer at The Daily Planet.
Gisondo is known for playing Gideon Gemstone in HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones. He’s also appeared in 2015’s Vacation reboot, 2017’s Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later, 2017-2019’s Santa Clarita Diet, 2019’s Booksmart, and 2021’s Licorice Pizza, among other roles.
Sampaio, meanwhile, is a Portuguese model best known for her work with Victoria’s Secret. She’s starred in a handful of film projects before, including 2017’s The Clapper (where she played herself), 2018’s Carga, 2021’s Shadow, and 2023’s At Midnight. She also appeared in an episode of Showtime’s Billions.
Who else has been cast in Superman: Legacy?
Joining Gisondo and Sampaio in Superman: Legacy are David Corenswet as the Man of Steel and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. Additionally, the film will star Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, and María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer.
Written and directed by Gunn, Superman: Legacy flies into United States theaters on July 11, 2025. Superman: Legacy marks the first film in Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU, though the new shared universe technically begins in 2024 with the animated Creature Commandos television series.
