Watch Before The Flash

Here’s What DC Studios Says You Should Watch Before The Flash

DC Studios Co-CEO James Gunn has revealed what you need to watch and know before seeing the upcoming DC Universe movie The Flash.

What movies should you watch before The Flash?

When asked over Twitter what main DC Extended Universe movies to watch before The Flash, Gunn replied saying that “you don’t NEED to watch anything.” He adds that you should know that Michael Keaton’s Batman exists, but that’s all you need to know beforehand.

After a few replies from other users stating that The Flash is the culmination of the DCEU and that those movies should be seen beforehand, Gunn made another statement. This time, the filmmaker explained that, like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Flash is an ending to a huge series of films that also tells you all you need to know within the movie itself. Gunn notes that he initially watched The Flash with some people who hadn’t seen any DCEU movies and that they “loved it & understood everything.”

The Flash movie sees the return of Ezra Miller as the DCEU’s Scarlet Speedster/ Barry Allen, who they first portrayed in Batman v Superman: Dawn of JusticeJustice League, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Joining Miller are Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Sasha Calle as Supergirl, and Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, along with Keaton and Ben Affleck who will reprise their respective versions of Bruce Wayne/Batman for the film.

The film is directed by IT‘s Andy Muschietti from the latest screenplay written by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey). It is being executive produced by Marianne Jenkins with Michael Disco and Barbara Muschietti set as producers.
