The cast of Venom 3 has grown once more, as a Marvel Cinematic Universe vet who appeared in both Doctor Strange movies has been added to the cast.
Which Doctor Strange actor has joined the Venom 3 cast?
Deadline has reported that Chiwetel Ejiofor, who played Karl Mordo in both Doctor Strange and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, has joined the third installment of Sony’s Venom series. Though there’s no word on who Ejiofor will be playing, he’s the latest actor to join the cast after Ted Lasso’s Juno Temple last month.
Venom 3 will be directed by Kelly Marcel, who is also writing the film. Marcel previously wrote both 2018’s Venom and its sequel along with Fifty Shades of Grey and Saving Mr. Banks. It will once again star Tom Hardy and is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker.
The character of Eddie Brock/Venom was last seen in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which he got accidentally transported into and out of the MCU, leaving behind a small bit of the Venom symbiote in the post-credits scene. Whether or not this portion of the symbiote will play into future MCU Spider-Man movies is unknown, though it potentially sets up the iconic symbiote storyline from the comics.
