Crikey! The title characters of Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers aren’t the only characters from the show returning for the satirical movie version. In a clip just released by Disney, Monterey Jack turns out to need the help of his old pals. Well, either that, or he’s in on a ruse to get Chip (John Mulaney) excited about a reboot. And in keeping with the movie’s recasting of major roles on the TV series with more famous actors, Monty is voiced by an actual Australian this time. Former Hulk Eric Bana does the honors, following in the footsteps of voice-acting greats Peter Cullen and Jim Cummings. Both of whom were faking the accent.
This scene also addresses the fact that Dale (Andy Samberg) looks a little different than he used to, unlike his relatively unchanged compadres. Take a look below:

Gadget, not seen here, will also return, but with her original voice actor, Tress MacNeille, who also voiced Chip on the original cartoon series. Original Dale actor Corey Burton will continue to voice Zipper, Monty’s housefly sidekick. Additional cast members include Will Arnett, Keegan-Michael Key, Flula Borg, J.K. Simmons, Seth Rogen, KiKi Layne, Chris Parnell, and Dennis Haysbert.
Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers starts streaming Friday, May 20, on Disney+. Will you be watching it on day one? Let us know in comments.
