Nearly 30 years ago, the original Jurassic Park wowed audiences with cutting-edge visual effects that brought dinosaurs into the 20th century. The industry has obviously come a long way since then. Regardless, that movie still holds up as an important benchmark in the history of blockbuster filmmaking. Now, with the highly-anticipated sixth installment right around the corner, the franchise is about to come full circle. And who better to reflect on its impact than the stars themselves?
In a new Legacy Featurette, the cast and crew of Jurassic World: Dominion discuss how these movies have shaped the entertainment landscape over the last three decades. The video notably features original Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum, all of whom are reprising their roles in the upcoming sequel. There are also some grainy behind-the-scenes footage from when the trio was shooting the film with Steven Spielberg in the early ‘90s. Unsurprisingly, it sounds like even they could tell that they were making something special.

“There was an energy on set that it was the first time you’d ever seen anything like this,” said Dern. Neill and Goldblum echoed her remarks. The current stars, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, also recalled seeing the movie for the first time. Pratt specifically remembered what it was like to watch the film’s trailer, which included the famous water cup shot; while Howard observed that “cinema forever had changed.”
Jurassic World: Dominion will hit theaters on June 10.
