The Blue Beetle movie has found its villain. Deadline is reporting that Sharon Stone is in final talks to portray Victoria Kord in the film. While Victoria is an original character who was created for this movie, her last name should be very familiar to comic book fans. Deadline also notes that Stone’s character is believed to be the wife of Ted Kord, the second Blue Beetle in the comics.
This is not Stone’s first comic book movie. She played the villain in the infamously bad Catwoman film. Additionally, she portrayed a femme fatale in the first Total Recall movie. Her other memorable films include Basic Instinct, Casino, Sliver, The Specialist, The Quick and the Dead, Sphere, The Mighty, The Muse, and Broken Flowers.

Cobra Kai standout Xolo Maridueña will headline Blue Beetle as Jaime Reyes, a teenager who is unwillingly bonded with an alien scarab. The scarab is also a sentient being and it allows Jaime to create battle armor and weapons. However, Jaime and the scarab are often at odds about how to use their arsenal.
Bruna Marquezine will play Jaime’s girlfriend, Penny, with George Lopez, Adriana Barraza, Elpidia Carrillo, Damián Alcázar, and Belissa Escobedo in supporting roles. Angel Manuel Soto will direct the film from a script by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer.
Blue Beetle will hit theaters on August 18, 2023.
