The Batman Visits [SPOILER] in a New Deleted Arkham Scene

Warning: There are massive spoilers ahead for The Batman!

Riddler may be locked up in Arkham Asylum, but his surprises just keep on coming. When The Batman hit theaters earlier this month, a post-credits tag revealed a link to rataalada.com, inviting fans to channel their inner detective and solve puzzles that unlock everything from new ciphers to police sketches of the Dark Knight himself. Now, the website has been updated with three additional riddles that unlock the biggest prize of all.

By now, anyone who’s seen The Batman knows that Barry Keoghan briefly appeared near the end of the film as the Joker, who (in this universe) has already tangled with the Caped Crusader in the past. Director Matt Reeves later revealed that he filmed a scene where Robert Pattinson’s Batman visits the Clown Prince of Crime at Arkham for new insight on the Riddler’s M.O. Unfortunately, their meet-up was left on the cutting room floor. But luckily, we don’t have to wait for the movie’s Blu-ray release in order to see it. You can watch the deleted scene below.

The scene confirms that it’s been approximately one year since the Joker was apprehended. And if you thought Colin Farrell’s Penguin prosthetics were impressive, that’s nothing compared to Keoghan’s transformation into Batman’s archenemy. Sporting only patches of green hair and scars all over his body, he runs bloodstained fingers over photos of the Riddler’s crime scenes. Plus, he can’t help but giggle as he admires the villain’s “baroque” taste in violence. The camera never quite comes into focus on his wicked smile. Regardless, it still gives us more than we saw in The Batman’s theatrical cut…and the effect makes his presence all the more chilling.

The Batman is now playing in theaters everywhere.
