In less than two weeks, Spider-Man: No Way Home will hit theaters. However, Sony Pictures Animation isn’t waiting around to promote its next animated Spidey flick. But Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 has a new name. It’s now called Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One). And as the name implies, the sequel has now been split into two movies.
Sony has debuted the first scene from the sequel, which takes place moments after the first film ended. Within the clip, Miles Morales is reunited with Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen. He’s also thrown into a conflict with another very familiar face.

The second Spider-Man facing Miles in the clip is Miguel O’Hara a.k.a. Spider-Man 2099. Oscar Isaac provided his voice in a post-credits scene for Into the Spider-Verse, and he is also returning for the sequel. However, we don’t know why Miguel is fighting Miles. Or even where the two Spider-Men are in space and time.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) will hit theaters on Friday, October 7, 2022. Sony will release Part Two at some point in 2023.
