Keanu Reeves & Carrie-Anne Moss Share Their Response To The Matrix Resurrections

No one expected Keanu Reeves & Carrie-Anne Moss to reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity after The Matrix Revolutions. After all, both Neo and Trinity died in that movie. Regardless, The Matrix Resurrections will bring Reeves and Moss back together, and no one is more surprised about that they were. While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Reeves and Moss shared their initial response to the new Matrix film.

“When I read [the script] for the first time — I was with Keanu reading it at a table — I had no idea how were we going to go back to this world,” said Moss. “I fantasized it in my mind, like three different scenarios. I was nowhere close.”

“It’s throwing down the Matrix gauntlet again,” added Reeves. “It’s super smart, clever, entertaining, suspenseful, funny. [The] writing is spectacular.”

Additionally, Moss noted that she felt “right back” on the set of the first trilogy when the cameras started rolling again.

“Most of my scenes are with Keanu, and it was just a pleasure to sit across from him and do that again,” said Moss. “We’ve been through this experience together as partners. The only way I can describe it is like a soul friendship.”

The Matrix Resurrections will hit theaters and HBO Max on December 22.
