The Justice League Falls In DC League of Super-Pets’ First Trailer

Ahead of the holiday weekend, Warner Bros. Pictures has debuted DC League of Super-Pets‘ first trailer. And the new footage clears up some assumptions about the film’s plot. While Krypto is clearly Superman’s beloved dog, the other animals aren’t actually the Justice League’s pets at all. They’re just shelter animals who were in the wrong place at the right time.

Regardless, the heart of the trailer is about Krypto (Dwayne Johnson) and his owner, Superman (John Krasinski). They live together, play together, and even save the world together. However, Krypto has a hard time relating to ordinary dogs. And he’s not very good about keeping a secret. But when Lex Luthor takes out the Justice League, Krypto is going to need a few good friends to help him save the day.

Kevin Hart is voicing Ace the Bat-Hound, and he’s incredibly obnoxious in this trailer. He’s also super strong and apparently invulnerable. Vanessa Bayer will lend her voice to PB, a pig who is suddenly granted size-changing abilities. Mertron (Natasha Lyonne) is a turtle who has super speed, while Chip (Diego Luna) has some kind of electricity powers. Marc Maron also stars in the film as Lex Luthor.

Additionally, Ben Schwartz, Thomas Middleditch, Kate McKinnon, Keanu Reeves, and Jameela Jamil will be among the voice cast. Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, and Green Lantern (Jessica Cruz) were all glimpsed in the trailer. So presumably some of those voices will be filled by these performers.

DC League of Super-Pets will hit theaters on May 20, 2022.
