Netflix Is Developing Power Rangers Interconnected Films and Series

Last year, Hasbro Studios and eOne lined up  The End of the F***ing World showrunner Jonathan Entwistle to develop new Power Rangers interconnected films and series. However, the revamped Power Rangers won’t be going with Paramount as expected. Instead, Netflix will be the new home of all things Power Rangers.

Deadline broke the story earlier today during a profile of eOne’s Michael Lombardo. Regardless, Entwistle quickly confirmed the news on his Twitter account.

Within the Deadline interview, Lombardo teased that news about the Power Rangers update may be revealed soon.

“Since we set up Power Rangers with Jonathan, we pitched really a whole-world approach,” said Lombardo. “It’s not just one show, it is shows followed by films, some kids’ programming. We have found a great writing partner for him, they are off. Knock on wood, Netflix is excited, we’re excited, we hope to have some news soon.”

Netflix also recently picked up the rights to the second season of Power Rangers Dino Fury, the current incarnation of the long-running franchise. However, the new interconnected Power Rangers universe will be separate from all of the films and TV shows that preceded it.
