Venom: Let There Be Carnage Character Posters Highlight Duality

Sony Pictures recently dropped a set of character posters for Venom: Let There Be Carnage. There was a time when producers reportedly considered delaying the Venom sequel a fourth time, moving it to Jan. 2022. But then Marvel Studios freed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings into theaters, people loved it, and it became pretty clear that the interest in superhero movies is still high. That’s why fans not only will get to see Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock on the big screen again this year, but it will happen earlier than expected. Sony opted to move the upcoming movie two weeks before its previously schedule release on Oct. 15.

And now, producers are bombarding fans with promotional material like the freshly released posters featuring the movie’s cast. The story will be all about Hardy’s antihero locking horns with Woody Harrelson’s Cletus Kasady, a.k.a. Carnage. The posters underline the duality for each character, showing how there is a different and darker side in them that is eager to get out and unleash hell on Earth.

Michelle Williams’s Anne Weying (Eddie’s love interest from the first movie) and Naomie Harris’s Frances Barrison get in the spotlight too. The madness in the latter’s eyes shows that she also goes by the name of Shriek, a dangerous and insane criminal who is madly in love with Cletus. According to the latest plans, the Venom sequel will debut in theaters on Oct. 1.
