Emily Blunt Dismisses Rumors About Being Cast as the Invisible Woman

The Fantastic Four are among the most notable characters missing from the Marvel Cinematic Universe at the moment. Together with the X-Men, the band of astrophysicists has yet to find a collocation in Marvel Studios’ titanic effort to bring the most famous characters from the comics to live-action. Recently, the buzz on the web was that Edge of Tomorrow and A Quiet Place actress Emily Blunt was in talks to portray Sue Storm on the big screen. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case since the actress denied any introduction to the character.

“I have heard that,” she said while talking about the rumors with EW. “People have asked me about that a lot. But I have had no formal introduction to the Invisible Woman. No.”

The fan-casting hopes to see Blunt taking the role of the Invisible Woman alongside her real-life husband, John Krasinski, who — you guessed — would play Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic. But it appears that fans will have to keep their dreams at bay for a while. At least, the actress is leaving the door open for a role in a superhero movie.

“For me, it’s all about the part,” she answered when asked about her views on the genre. “It’s not that I’m loathed [sic] to put on a catsuit. It’s not that at all. I just haven’t found something that really speaks to me.”

Marvel Studios seemed to tease that the current Phase 4 will see the debut of the Fantastic Four in the MCU, hinting at the franchise’s famous logo in a recent video. However, it’s just speculation for the moment, as no official date has been announced.
