The Flash Movie Casts Ron Livingston as the New Henry Allen

Barry Allen is getting a new dad when The Flash arrives on the big screen next year. Earlier this month, word broke that Billy Crudup won’t reprise his Justice League role as Henry Allen in the Scarlet Speedster’s first standalone movie. Now, the filmmakers have found his replacement. Variety brings word that Ron Livingston will step into the role of Henry when production on The Flash gets underway.

Crudup was forced to leave the film due to scheduling conflicts with Apple TV+’s The Morning Show. In addition to appearing in Justice League’s theatrical cut in 2017, Crudup also showed up as Henry in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which premiered on HBO Max last week. Livingston’s casting finally rounds out the onscreen Allen clan, with Ezra Miller headlining the film as Barry and Maribel Verdú playing his mother, Nora. Kiersey Clemons will also star as Iris West after having her Justice League scenes restored for the Snyder Cut.

Livingston is probably best known for starring in Mike Judge’s cult hit Office Space in 1999. In 2002, he received a Golden Globe nod for his performance on HBO’s Band of Brothers. Livingston’s recent work includes stints on TV shows like Search Party, Loudermilk, and A Million Little Things. He also appeared in The Conjuring in 2013.

Variety also confirmed that Ian Loh has joined the film’s cast as a young Barry. Other new additions include Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Derry Girls) and YouTube star Rudy Mancuso. Unfortunately, the nature of their roles remain a mystery for now.

The Flash hits theaters on November 4, 2022.
