It’s not exactly the Fifth Element sequel we’ve been hoping for, but Bruce Willis’ latest sci-fi adventure looks promising. Saban Films has premiered the official trailer for Cosmic Sin, which once again pits Willis against hostile aliens.
The new movie takes place in the year 2524, four hundred years after humanity began establishing colonies on other planets. Willis headlines the movie as James Ford, a retired military general who is called back into service to combat an extraterrestrial threat before it can eradicate the human race. Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) co-stars as General Eron Ryle, the man who recruits Ford to join his team as they journey through a “space gate” to stop the invasion before it can start. Judging by the latest footage, we can expect to see a lot of high-tech weaponry and interstellar dog fights in the film. Of course, there will also be plenty of jokes about Willis’ age.

Edward Drake directed Cosmic Sin from a script he co-wrote with Corey Large, who also has a role in the film. Drake’s latest directorial effort, the supernatural thriller Broil, premiered last year. He and Large previously co-wrote another Willis movie, Breach, which opened back in December. Cosmic Sin’s cast also includes Brandon Thomas Lee, Corey Large, Perrey Reeves, CJ Perry, Lochlyn Munro, Costas Mandylor, and Adelaide Kane.
Cosmic Sin hits theaters, on demand, and digital on March 12.
