Just over a week ago, Marvel Studios promised fans in China that there would be Marvel theme musical show hosted by Chinese Bilibili on New Year’s Eve. Earlier today, that promise was kept. Via Laughing Place, the video from China’s Bilibili New Year’s Gala has been posted online.
The orchestra opened the performance with Brian Tyler’s Marvel Studios Fanfare. If it sounds familiar, it’s because this is the music that opens nearly every Marvel Studios movie. However, this is the extended version of Tyler’s theme, which has rarely been heard.
Additionally, the orchestra segued into Alan Silvestri’s Avengers theme. This is the version that made its debut nearly a decade ago in The Avengers. Regardless, it has proven to be one of Marvel’s most iconic themes, and variations of the music appeared in every Avengers sequel.

The conductor also got in on the fun by donning Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet. However, he resisted the urge to snap his fingers while leading the musicians.
Finally, the Chinese logos for Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Eternals won cheers from the crowd. COVID permitting, those movies should finally arrive in 2021.
