In the last few days, some fortunate fans worldwide have watched Wonder Woman 1984 in theaters as the movie has already debuted in some countries in Europe, Indonesia, and South Africa. While fans in the U.S. will have to wait for Christmas Day to watch the film themselves, many are excited to see more of Diana and the actress that portrays her, Gal Gadot. Recently, Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder took to Twitter to share a behind-the-scenes photo of the Israeli actress’ first day on his set. He praised the work done by Gadot all these years.
Gal’s first day on set in the costume July 2014, shot on my iPhone 6. I knew when I cast her back in the fall of 2013 she was not just my Wonder Woman, but a Wonder Woman for the world. So proud of how she’s embodied this character with love & grace. #WW84 @GalGadot @PattyJenks pic.twitter.com/oxOTz2WvwP

After debuting as the Amazonian warrior in 2016’s blockbuster, Gadot resumed her role in the standalone Wonder Woman movie, 2017’s Justice League, and the soon-to-be-released Wonder Woman 1984. She will don Diana Prince’s boots in the restored Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021) and a third Wonder Woman solo film. Clearly, Snyder’s choice met with the approval of the majority of DC Extended Universe fans.
