The Walking Dead Executive Teases Michonne’s Return in the Movies

It appears that The Walking Dead Season 10 may not be the last time fans will hear of Michonne. The character portrayed by Danai Gurira exited the show following the thirteenth episode of the latest season. But while talking to ComicbookThe Walking Dead chief content officer Scott Gimple teased that she would return for the upcoming TWD movies.

“People should pay attention to the way that Michonne left the show,” he said. “There’s something going on there. Yeah, King Bach was there. I’m very grateful to him. We probably haven’t seen the end of him either. It was King Bach for a reason. But that was a pretty big group she was with.”

Michonne left the rest of the group together with a couple of strangers from the survivor caravan called Aiden and Bailey.

A lot of details about the upcoming TWD movies are still under wrap. However, it is known that Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes will return to the TWD Universe for the long-features. And while many fans expected him to at least cameo in TWD: World Beyond, it seems that this is not the case.

“I’m not happy to say the answer,” Gimple added. “I’m happy to be definitive with people. It is not. That’s one, I don’t know if people are being cagey about that. But I feel that one’s important not to be cagey about. I think people could watch this show and learn a lot about the mythology that Rick Grimes is caught up in. And they might even see places where Rick Grimes has been. But yeah, he’s not swinging around the corner.”

The Walking Dead Season 10 will return on AMC on Feb. 28.
