Fox X-Men movie completists will need this one, no matter what they may think. Delayed for so long that some stopped believing it would ever open, Josh Boone’s attempt at a Marvel horror movie saw limited drive-in release en route to DVD. Odds are that at least one person on the gift list is curious enough to want it.
Resident Evil Movie Collection 4K $69.99
If the tangled mythology of Paul W.S. Anderson’s Resident Evil movies can seem tough to follow, maybe it’s time to binge all six, with this 4K collection. Follow the journey of mysterious amnesiac Alice (Milla Jovovich) from young woman stranded in a strange underground mansion to badass lone warrior of the apocalypse. Zombies and various monsters from the game pop up along the way, but she never becomes an Alice sandwich. Not necessarily the highest of high art, but Milla kicking monsters is enough of a sure thing that she’s doing Monster Hunter next.

George Lucas promised a nine-movie Star Wars saga way back in 1980, and it only took forty years to get it. Regardless of whether everyone loves every movie in it — let’s face it, no 9-movie saga exists in which all the films are of equal quality — this set fulfills many dreams. All nine Episodes come in 4K, with a Blu-ray of extras each. And a nice Ralph McQuarrie concept art book holds them all in, along with a letter from Mark Hamill.
Star Trek: Picard – Season One (Blu-ray Steelbook) $39.99
Lots of people love Patrick Stewart, but not necessarily to the point that they’ll pay for another streaming service. With this season 1 set of Picard, no CBS All-Access purchase is required to enjoy the further adventures of Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Now without a starship and haunted by a diplomatic failure with the Romulans, the Starfleet veteran assembles a new off-the-books crew to solve a mystery left behind by the late — or is he? — Lt. Cmdr. Data. In a race against time and Romulan intelligence, new enemies and old friends come into play. And Star Trek: Voyager fans get to find out what happened to Seven of Nine and Icheb.
Game of Thrones: The Complete Collection (4K UHD + Digital Copy) $194.00
Harp on the divisive ending if you will, but to coin an Internet cliche, the real Game of Thrones was the friends we made along the way. Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Tyrion Lannister, Jorah Mormont, Littlefinger, Brienne of Tarth, Hodor, even that little rat bastard Joffrey…they still bring smiles and scowls to the faces of fans who hung in there for eight seasons. Even when George R.R. Martin killed off and abused favorite characters just to prove he could. Why not enjoy the best version possible, from the beginning, with all the extra bells and whistles? In UHD, there’s even a chance more of the Battle of Winterfell will come into focus from the darkness.
Arrow: The Complete Series (Blu-ray) $99.99
Arguably as important a superhero series as ever there was in the history of the medium. What began as a CW drama that didn’t overtly announce its comic-book origins kickstarted an entire superhero universe on TV. One that, thanks to the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event, now canonically exists in the same multiverse as Christopher Reeve’s Superman, Michael Keaton’s Batman, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Stephen Amell’s performance as Oliver Queen arguably did more to define the character than anything since the ’70s, making Green Arrow once again an A-lister.
Bugs Bunny 80th Anniversary Collection $72.56
What’s up, Doc? Sixty theatrical shorts, from the 1940s al the way to the 1990s, get the remaster treatment in this three-disc set, along with ten bonus cartoons from the new HBO MAX Looney Tunes series, a documentary, and exclusive glitter Funko POP figure. It’s definitely rabbit season.

Getting older can be both excellent and bogus in its own ways, as middle-aged Bill S. Preston Esquire and Ted “Theodore” Logan learned in this year’s quarantine hit Bill and Ted Face the Music. Own their complete saga for a price that averages out to $10 per movie, as the San Dimas-based duo go from spaced-out high-schoolers with a time machine to interdimensional travellers between Heaven and Hell. Finally, see them attempt to steal from their own futures in a misguided attempt to kickstart their destinies and possibly destroy reality. All the while, they remain excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.
Back to the Future 35th Anniversary Trilogy Giftset 4K UHD $69.98
1985 is now longer ago than 1955 was in 1985. So while the Back to the Future saga’s depiction of 2015 is completely dated, its alternate dark-timeline 1985 looks mighty close to 2020. Still, nobody has to get all the references to enjoy the near-perfect trilogy (what kid today has ever heard of Pepsi Free?), because they are so densely packed, and every plot point pays off. Enjoy again or for the first time with an hour of new bonus features, UHD remaster, and a magnetic floating hoverboard replica.
