Report: Chris Pratt Will Join the Cast of Thor: Love and Thunder

Back in Avengers: Endgame, Thor stepped down from his role as King of Asgard and took off with the Guardians of the Galaxy to parts unknown. But it looks like the “Asgardians of the Galaxy” will be back together in Thor: Love and Thunder. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Pratt has signed on to reprise his role as Peter Quill a.k.a. Star-Lord.

Peter had a semi-contentious relationship with Thor in both Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War.  Additionally, Peter clearly seemed to believe that Thor was undercutting his status as the Guardians’ leader. Those feelings of insecurity are unlikely to go away in the new sequel.

Pratt will also be back for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, whenever that film finally begins production.

Thor: Love and Thunder will also bring back Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster as the Mighty Thor. Additionally, Christian Bale is rumored to play the villain of the film.

Taika Waititi is writing and directing the sequel, which will hit theaters on February 11, 2022. Filming will begin in early 2021.
