It’s official: there won’t be any new Marvel Studios movies in 2020. The ongoing coronavirus pandemic closed movie theaters for months, and the recent box office performance of Tenet has demonstrated that people aren’t willing to return yet. That’s why Marvel Studios and Disney have pushed Black Widow into 2021.
The new release date for Black Widow is May 7, 2021. That’s just over a year after its originally scheduled date. Marvel had set the film to come out on November 6, but it seems unlikely that the movie-going experience will be normalized by then.
As a result of Black Widow‘s shift, Marvel’s Eternals is also being delayed to November 5, 2021. That film is believed to be complete, but Marvel has yet to release a trailer. Additionally, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will now be released on July 9, 2021.

Eternals co-star Kumail Nanjiani also shared his response to the news.
Eternals delayed to Nov 5, 2021. Marvel made the right & responsible decision. There’s a pandemic. Nothing is more important than health & lives. I can’t tell ppl to go to a movie theater until I feel safe going to one.
Take care of yourselves. I promise it’ll be worth the wait!
