DC FanDome: Shazam! 2 Will Be Called Shazam!: Fury of the Gods

Shazam! 2 Will Be Called Shazam!: Fury of the Gods

At DC FanDome, the cast of Shazam! didn’t have a lot to say about the upcoming sequel. Zachary Levi was joined by Asher Angel, Meagan Good, Jack Dylan Grazer, Faithe Herman, and Adam Brody. For some reason, comedian Sinbad was also a part of the panel; and he insisted that he has a part in the sequel.

However, director David F. Sandberg gave the panel it’s lone piece of real news. The name of the movie won’t be Shazam! 2. Instead, it will be called Shazam!: Fury of the Gods. Additionally, Sandberg shared a mock poster for the film that included Sinbad in the lineup.

As long time comic book fans know, Shazam’s name represents Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury. Perhaps that will play into the title of the new film. However, it’s unclear whether this relates to the mid-credits scene in Shazam! that introduced Mister Mind. Within this context, Mark Strong’s Sivana was approached by Mister Mind. who also wanted to form an alliance with him.

Shazam!: Fury of the Gods will hit theaters on November 4, 2022. However, it’s unclear when filming will begin.

What do you think about the name of the Shazam! sequel’s new name? Let us know in the comment section below!
