When Zack Snyder stepped away from Justice League, Joss Whedon made a lot of changes and cuts to the film. Consequently, Orion Lee’s turn as Ryan Choi was completely absent from the final film. However, Lee’s appearance as Choi will be restored in the upcoming Justice League Snyder Cut on HBO Max. Via Discussing Film’s twitter account, Snyder recently showed off a new picture of Lee in character as Choi from a deleted scene in the film.

Within the movie, Choi was slated to be the director of nanotechnology at S.T.A.R. Labs. But in the comics, Choi took over as the new Atom following the disappearance of his predecessor, Ray Palmer.

Because Lee was cut from Justice League, Osric Chau became the first actor to portray Choi in live-action during the Crisis on Infinite Earths TV crossover. Regardless, the Snyder Cut could potentially give Lee a chance to become the Atom in a future DC movie.
The Justice League Snyder Cut will hit HBO Max in 2021.
