Disney just released a new clip from the upcoming adaptation of Artemis Fowl online. The scene snippet features some fresh footage of the young protagonist looking for clues to find his missing father. Together with his trusted servant and bodyguard Domovoi Butler, Artemis is recalling the Irish Blessing his father used to read to him before going to bed. It seems that those are not just some simple lyrics; they could also hide some important truth in the titular hero’s life.

The official synopsis reads:
“Disney’s Artemis Fowl, based on the beloved book by Eoin Colfer, is a fantastical, spellbinding adventure that follows the journey of 12-year-old genius Artemis Fowl, a descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds, as he desperately tries to save his father who has been kidnapped. In order to pay his ransom, Artemis must infiltrate an ancient, underground civilization—the amazingly advanced world of fairies—and bring the kidnapper the Aculos, the fairies’ most powerful and coveted magical device. To locate the elusive object, cunning Artemis concocts a dangerous plan—so dangerous that he ultimately finds himself in a perilous war of wits with the all-powerful fairies.”
In Artemis Fowl, newcomer Ferdia Shaw plays the titular genius. The all-star cast also includes Colin Farrell, Judi Dench, Josh Gad, Lara McDonnell, and Nonso Anozie. Directed by Kenneth Branagh, the book was adapted for the screen by award-winning playwright Conor McPherson. Kenneth Branagh will also produce the movie together with Judy Hofflund. Moreover, Matthew Jenkins and Angus More Gordon are serving as executive producers.
