Warner Bros. Gives The Matrix 4 Cast Eight Week Contract Extensions

Two months ago, Warner Bros. Pictures was forced to put The Matrix 4 on hold over the novel coronavirus pandemic. However, the new sequel to The Matrix may soon be able to resume filming.

Via Variety, Warner Bros. has given the cast of The Matrix 4 eight week contract extensions to keep them in place through July 6. The studio is hoping that production will be able to restart by that point. The Matrix 4 had been slated to begin shooting in Berlin in mid-March. Regardless, it’s unclear if the studio’s plans still include a European shoot.

Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will be back as Neo and Trinity despite their apparent deaths in The Matrix Revolutions. Jada Pinkett-Smith will also reportedly reprise her role as Niobe.
