Today is the day for Sonic fans as Sonic The Hedgehog is finally available on the digital market. In order to celebrate the official release, Paramount has debuted some interesting features from the movie. First, a deleted scene from the movie has made it to the web. The scene features a clean look at the old design of the iconic character before it underwent the redesign. In the brief clip, Sonic arrives on Earth together with Longclaw — who, by the way, never made it into the final version of the movie. Shortly after, the supersonic hedgehog nearly dies. The scene gives the idea why fans were so vocal about the changed design.

Sonic the Hedgehog is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster video game franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
