In Birds of Prey, Harley Quinn’s greatest love affair wasn’t with the Joker or even her new friends. Instead, Harley was absolutely obsessed with her favorite egg sandwich, as made by Sal. Bruno Oliver played Sal in the movie, and he recently shared his recipe for Harley’s egg sandwich in a new video from Variety. Oliver also told Variety that he didn’t realize the egg sandwich was so important until he saw the film.
“You couldn’t tell from the audition necessarily and as actors, we always worry about our scenes being cut,” said Oliver. “I really didn’t understand the place the egg sandwich had in the movie until I saw it.”

Within the video, Oliver makes the sandwich with ciabatta bread because there are “nooks and crannies for the gooey eggness to go into.” Naturally, he also used eggs, bacon, American cheese, and a touch of hot sauce. Variety notes that Oliver had to visit four different stores to get the ingredients because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Birds of Prey is available on digital outlets now. The Blu-ray and DVD will likely hit stores in May.
