A former Desperado will take on Nathan Drake and company in Sony’s Uncharted film. Via Variety, Antonio Banderas has joined the cast of the video game adaptation. Banderas’ role was not yet specified, but he will appear opposite Tom Holland’s Drake and Mark Wahlberg’s Sully.
Additionally, Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland 2 and Venom) will helm the film. Fleischer was in talks to direct it earlier this year, but it’s official now.
Two other actors have also come on board the project: Tati Gabrielle (The 100)and Sophia Ali of (Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare). However, their roles have not yet been revealed either.

Several directors have tried to bring Uncharted to the big screen, including Bumblebee’s Travis Knight. But now, it appears that the film may finally be to go in front of the cameras. Production is expected to begin sometime later this year.
Uncharted is set to arrive in theaters on March 5, 2021.
