At CCXP in Brazil, director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot dropped the first trailer for Wonder Woman 1984. The trailer promised “a new era of wonder” as the story jumped from Wonder Woman‘s World War I introduction to an adventure she had 35 years ago. It also introduced Kristen Wiig as Barbara Minerva, Wonder Woman/Diana’s friend who will ultimately become her foe, Cheetah.
Additionally, Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor is reunited with Diana decades after his apparent death. However, their reunion is only a small part of the larger battle to come. Fortunately, Wonder Woman came dressed for battle! Near the end of the trailer, Diana debuts her new golden armor, as seen in the previously released posters.
