In May 2020, Warner Bros. is jumping into the streaming wars with HBO Max. And while DC Universe already has most of the live-action DC projects, HBO Max has grander ambitions. During the three hour HBO Max presentation, it was announced that every live-action DC movie is coming to the service. Shortly thereafter, HBO Max’s official twitter account confirmed that news.
We’re all in with DC! All live-action DC films of the last decade will be available on HBO Max within the first year of launch, including every #SUPERMAN and #BATMAN movie from the last 40 years.

The official account noted that current box office smash, Joker, is also coming to HBO Max.

Richard Donner’s Superman kicked off he modern era of superhero films in 1978. Tim Burton’s Batman reinvigorated the genre in 1989, with three sequels of its own that followed. Some of the other DC films from the past 40 years include Supergirl, Swamp Thing, Catwoman, Constantine, Superman Returns, and Green Lantern, among others. Back in 2013, the DC Extended Universe began with Man of Steel, which led to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman, Suicide Squad, Justice League, Aquaman, and Shazam. All of those films and more will be available on HBO Max at some point between May 2020 and May 2021.
