Following the premiere of the final trailer, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is ready to take over this holiday season. Pre-sale tickets for the final chapter in the Skywalker saga went on sale last night. And although not all of the numbers are in, Atom Tickets is reporting that the first hour of ticket sales eclipsed Avengers: Endgame by 45%. This suggests that the so-called Star Wars fatigue that doomed Solo: A Star Wars Story won’t impact the latest installment.
Other ticket outlets, like Fandango, have not yet released their numbers. But this is a good indicator of the film’s momentum. Beating Endgame in early pre-sales is one thing. Whether it can come close to Endgame’s $2.7 billion take is another question.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will hit theaters on December 20. But the real action may come on Thursday, December 19, when preview showings begin.
