Earlier this week, Dan Aykroyd confirmed that he’ll be back as Ray Stantz in Ghostbusters 2020. Now, Ernie Hudson has announced his return as well. Via Entertainment Weekly, Hudson made his confirmation while making a Cameo video for a fan. Hudson even wore his Winston Zeddemore costume for the occasion.
“We’re shooting the new Ghostbusters right now, coming out next summer,” said Hudson. “I’m hoping that you’ll enjoy it as much as the other movies that we’ve done. I know that I’m having a blast doing them.”
Hudson made his Ghostbusters debut in the 1984 original film directed by Ivan Reitman. He reprised his role for Ghostbusters 2 and Ghostbusters: The Video Game. However, he was infamously passed over for the role of Winston in The Real Ghostbusters animated series.

Hudson’s return means that two of the three surviving Ghostbusters are in for Ghostbusters 2020. According to Aykroyd, Bill Murray has yet to commit to making an appearance. Regardless, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts are both signed for the sequel as well.
Ghostbusters 2020 will star Carrie Coon and Paul Rudd in leading roles. So far, all we know about Coon’s character is she’s a single mother. Mckenna Grace and Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard are co-starring as the children of Coon’s character. Sony Pictures will release Ghostbusters 2020 on July 10, 2020.
