Lupita Nyong’o Fights Zombies in the Little Monsters Red-Band Trailer

Zombie flicks might be second only to superhero movies when it comes to Hollywood’s genre of choice these days. However, none of these movies have had Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o…until now. Hulu is banking on the actress’ star power to convince subscribers to check out their next original film. The streaming service has just unveiled the red-band trailer for their new horror-comedy, Little Monsters, due out next month.

Nyong’o stars as Miss Caroline, an elementary school teacher who takes her young students on a field trip. Unfortunately, what starts out as a harmless visit to a petting zoo turns deadly when the park is invaded by zombies. Miss Caroline must team up with the zoo’s staff to protect the children from the ravenous flesh-eaters who have interrupted their tractor rides and Taylor Swift singalongs. Josh Gad (Frozen) and Alexander England (Alien: Covenant) co-star in the film, which was written and directed by Abe Forsythe.

Of course, having to fend off the undead makes it pretty hard for the grown-ups to watch their language in front of the children. As the trailer makes clear, the film doesn’t hold back on its use of profanity (even from the kids themselves). There will be plenty of F-bombs, but since this is a zombie movie, there’s tons of violence as well. Horror fanatics will delight in watching the characters take out the infected with shovels, two-by-fours, and an electric guitar.

Little Monsters will hit theaters for a limited engagement starting on October 8. It will then be available to stream on Hulu on October 11. You can watch the very NSFW trailer below, then tell us what you think in the comment section!
