Sam Raimi Supported Spider-Man: Far From Home Mid-Credits Scene

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Spider-Man: Far From Home!

There is hardly a person who wasn’t surprised and excited by the Spider-Man: Far From Home mid-credits scene, and now it turns out Spider-Man trilogy director Sam Raimi counts himself among the fans. Despite not having seen the latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Raimi confessed that he was already aware of J.K. Simmons reprising his role of J. Jonah Jameson in the movie.

“J.K. (Simmons) called me and said: ‘Hey, they’re talking me about reprising my role. What do you think?’ and I said: ‘With all my greatest blessings,’ because I love Spider-Man, I love J.K. and I want to see more of them,” Raimi said.

Raimi should have directed a fourth movie in Sony’s Spider-Man franchise, but his project never came to pass and Sony instead rebooted the franchise with Andrew Garfield as the web-slinger.
