Spider-Man: Far From Home Adds $27 Million on Wednesday

Earlier this week, Spider-Man: Far From Home opened with approximately $39 million on Tuesday. According to Deadline, Far From Home‘s second day added $27 million. That’s a record for the MCU, but only because no other Marvel Studios movie has opened on a Tuesday or a Wednesday.

Among Spider-Man films, only Spider-Man 2 can boast a larger Wednesday. But Spider-Man 2 opened on Wednesday, June 30 2004, which is why it hit $40 million on that day. That film went on to gross $152 million for its extended weekend, which is more than Far From  Home‘s current $150 million projection. Some analysts believe that Far From Home could rise to $175 to $180 million by the end of the weekend. However, other projections suggest that Far From Home could come in around $125 million for the extended opening.

Meanwhile, Marvel’s other current movie, Avengers: Endgame, has yet to see a significant boost from Spidey’s new film. On Tuesday, Endgame added only $585,762 to its total and landed in eighth place. Marvel and Disney may have been hoping that Far From Home would reignite interest in Endgame in the same way that film helped Captain Marvel rise back to #2 at the box office. However, that doesn’t appear to be in the cards.

What do you think about Far From Home‘s total for its first two days? And how high do you think it will go this weekend? Let us know, and share your predictions in the comment section below!
