Chris Hemsworth is Taking a Break From Acting For the Rest of 2019

It’s been a busy time for Chris Hemsworth as of late. He’s been continuous working with Marvel Studios as the mighty Thor in a number of movies, including Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Next week, he’ll reunite with his Ragnarok co-star Tessa Thompson for Men In Black: International. But it might be a while before we see him after that.

Hemsworth recently spoke with Australia’s Daily Telegraph (per ABC Fox Montana) about why he’s taking the rest of the year off.

“This year I probably won’t shoot anything,” said Hemsworth. “I just want to be at home now with my kids. They are at a very important age. They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before. I have this year where I’m probably not going to shoot anything. I have a press tour, a few endorsements, and bits and pieces, but mostly just be home. If you went back 10 years and asked me what would be my dream scenario, this is kind of it. I can now sit back, enjoy and appreciate it, and stop chasing (movies).”

“These days, honestly, one of my first questions is location,” continued Hemsworth. “My kids now are all in school and we’re planted in Australia and it’s getting harder to leave.”

However, Hemsworth has expressed interest in returning to the role of Thor, possibly for a reunion with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Men In Black: International opens in theaters on June 14.
