5 Infinity Gauntlet Moments We Want In Avengers: Endgame

The end is coming. More specifically, the Endgame is coming. Spider-Man: Far From Home might signal the end of the MCU’s third phase in Kevin Feige’s eyes, but we all know that the real ending will come with Avengers: Endgame.

That sense of finality isn’t uncharacteristic for the story Endgame looks to finish. Avengers: Infinity War took story elements from numerous Marvel events (Thanos Quest, Infinity) to tell its story. But the key source material remains 1991’s Infinity Gauntlet. It’s only fitting that it serves the same purpose for Endgame.

Many elements of the original didn’t make the trip across mediums. However, Feige and the Russo brothers were able to preserve many thematic elements. The Avengers simply aren’t a match for a fully empowered Thanos. The result their previous battle resulted in a universe changing snap. Thanos even comes across as more nihilistic than any other incarnation of the character. It’s a far cry from the fedora-tipping phenom whose actions are fueled by a blind romantic infatuation with Death.

Regardless. readers of Infinity Gauntlet know that “The Snap” is barely the beginning of things to come. Several of the book’s most memorable events won’t translate fully to the silver screen. But that doesn’t mean that fans aren’t holding out hope. Even if they aren’t wholly holistic to the text, we’re hoping the Russos will find their own way to bring these moments to life.

To that end, here are five Infinity Gauntlet moments we want to see in Avengers: Endgame.
