The scores of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are coming to a turntable near you. Via Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Music and Hollywood Records are teaming up with Mondo to release exclusive vinyl pressings of every one of Marvel’s soundtracks.
Mondo is kicking off this new series with the debut pressing of Christophe Beck’s Ant-Man and the Wasp score. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Mondo release without a spiffy cover. That’s why they’ve enlisted Phantom City Creative to handle the soundtrack’s artwork, depicting the title heroes as yin and yang. Beck’s score is pressed on two 180-gram LPs. It will available on three colorways: split-colored vinyl (limited to 1,000 copies) solid-colored vinyl, and black vinyl. All versions feature 14 previously unreleased bonus tracks.
“I had previously created a theme for the Ant-Man in the odd meter of seven which means seven beats per bar,” Beck said of his musical contributions to last year’s film. “I created a theme for The Wasp which was in the odd meter of five. Most songs and scores are written in the more traditional 4/4 or 3/4 meters. But, when more beats are added to create a complex meter, it brings a dynamic, rhythmic effect to the music which fits in with the multifaceted character of these two superheroes.”

Mondo has previously offered exclusive pressings of the soundtracks to every Marvel Netflix series. The company also pressed John Paesano’s Spider-Man PS4 music on vinyl last fall. Next up, they will release exclusive versions of Ludwig Goransson’s Oscar-winning Black Panther soundtrack and Mark Mothersbaugh’s Thor: Ragnarok score.
Mondo Music Record Label Manager Mo Shafeek shared his own enthusiasm for the ongoing soundtrack series in a new statement:
“The roster is outrageous on paper,” Shafeek said. “Everyone from Alan Silvestri and Michael Giacchino, to Mark Mothersbaugh and Ludwig Goransson, to, most recently, Pinar Toprak who did amazing work on Captain Marvel. We are honored to start our MCU soundtrack series with Ant-Man and The Wasp (one of our favorite superhero themes of the last few years for us was Christophe Beck’s earworm theme for Ant-Man) and cannot wait to see what comes next!”
Mondo’s pressing of the Ant-Man and the Wasp soundtrack goes on sale Wednesday at noon (CT). You can check out the artwork and track listing below, then tell us what you think in the comment section!
