It’s not unusual for Hollywood stars to drop in on their own films during opening, especially if the movie is playing in Los Angeles. But it’s rarer for the star of a film to appear in a random theater on the other side of the country. This weekend, Captain Marvel‘s Brie Larson made a surprise appearance at AMC Clifton Commons theater in New Jersey. As depicted in this clip from Marvel’s twitter account, Larson was also wearing a custom made Captain Marvel inspired tracksuit.

Captain Marvel was easily the number one film at the box office this weekend. However, the film’s take is currently estimated to be between $153 million and $157 million. Regardless, Captain Marvel is now the seventh highest opening for the MCU. It’s also the third highest opening for the month of March, behind Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast.
