Who’s ready to get Big with Shazam!? Warner Bros. hasn’t exactly been fast to release the second Shazam! trailer, even in the wake of Aquaman‘s success. But now that the other Captain Marvel movie is a few days away, perhaps WB can steal a little thunder for its superhero film.
The latest trailer builds on everything we’ve seen before. Billy Batson (Asher Angel) is given incredible powers by an ancient wizard. When he calls down the lightning, Billy becomes Shazam (Zachary Levi), and older version of himself. Billy just can’t stop himself from sharing the news with his friend, Freddy (Jack Dylan Grazer), and they show off that power in very public ways. However, that also draws the attention of Doctor Sivana (Mark Strong), an evil genius who has his own magic powers.

David F. Sandberg (Annabelle: Creation) is the director of Shazam!, and the film takes its cues from the New 52 reboot. That’s one of the reasons that Earth’s mightest mortal can’t call himself Captain Marvel anymore. However, he still has his powers and abilities, as well as the personality that made him into an iconic character.
Grace Fulton is co-starring in the film as Billy’s foster sister, Mary. Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand. Cooper Andrews, and Marta Milans round out the cast.
