Into the Spider-Verse Gets its Own Spider-Man Christmas Album

Looks like it’s going to be a very Spider-Man Christmas! During Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, fans learned that Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson) once made the questionable decision to record a Spider-Man Christmas album. Now, Sony has revealed plans to release a five-song EP titled a “A Very Spidey Christmas.” Naturally, one of the songs on the EP is “Spider Bells,” which was featured in the end credits of the film.

“Spidey Bells” was performed by Chris Pine (Star Trek), who portrayed the younger Peter Parker in Into the Spider-Verse. The song was partially inspired by the famous Batman Jingle Bell lyrics, and it even confirms that Venom exists in his universe. It’s fitting that Pine sang this song, because it’s very William Shatner-esque. Spidey’s spoken word existential crisis was particularly amusing.

Johnson’s Spider-Man sang the next song, which was Spidey’s take on “Deck the Halls.” What it lacks in musical talent, it makes up for with Spidey’s enthusiasm. However, it doesn’t sound like Mary Jane was happy with her shout out.

Film Music Reporter had the first details about “A Very Spidey Christmas,” which will be released digitally on Friday, December 21. The track list is below.

  • Joy to the World – Shameik Moore (1:40)
  • Spidey-Bells (A Hero’s Lament) – Chris Pine (2:41)
  • Deck the Halls – Jake Johnson (2:05)
  • Up on the House Top – Chris Pine (1:45)
  • The Night Before Christmas 1967 (Spoken Word) – Jorma Taccone (2:45)
