Arthur and Mera Plan Orm’s Defeat in a New Aquaman Clip

Earlier today, Jason Momoa arrived on the set of Good Morning America, trident in hand, to talk about his work in this month’s Aquaman. He also brought a new clip from the film, which you can check out via the player below. The new footage starts at the 3:47 mark.

The clip expands on the meeting between Arthur, Mera (Amber Heard), and Nuidis Vulko (Willem Dafoe) teased in the film’s final trailer. Arthur expresses his reluctance to be Atlantis’ king and insists that none of its citizens will accept him as their leader. However, Mera and Vulko warn him that his half-brother, Orm’s (Patrick Wilson), ascension to the throne will only bring about catastrophe. With this, they set out find the Trident of Neptune in order to prevent Orm’s rise. Among other topics, Momoa discussed his stunt work in Aquaman as well as his character’s wax figure at Madame Tussauds. Understandably, the figure’s ample forehead left him feeling a little self-conscious. He also mentioned that his two children filmed cameos for the movie, but he thinks director James Wan might have left their scenes on the cutting room floor.

Momoa still hasn’t seen Aquaman’s final cut, but early reviews have started to pour in via social media. Thankfully, the consensus appears to be that the latest entry in the DC Extended Universe does not disappoint. The embargo for full reviews will be lifted on December 11 at 11am. Momoa will remain in New York this week to prepare for his first time hosting Saturday Night Live.

Aquaman hits theaters on December 21. You can share your thoughts on the new clip and Momoa’s remarks about the film in the comment section below!
