Daredevil: Born Again’s finale featured multiple deaths to fulfill the show’s quota of action and brutality and justify its mature rating. However, only a few key characters were killed off, while many survived to most likely return in Season 2. Here’s a list of who dies in the Daredevil: Born Again finale and who survives to propel the story forward.
List of characters who die in Daredevil: Born Again’s finale
Commissioner Gallo
Despite his family being threatened by Fisk, Commissioner Gallo tries to go against him. He asks for Sheila Rivera’s support to end Fisk and the AVTF’s atrocities. But after promising to put in a word with authorities higher than Fisk, she instantly betrays Gallo to save her own life. As a result, Fisk crushes Gallo’s skull with his own hands, killing him to make a statement against those who decide to go against him.
Cole North and many other AVTF members
The Punisher killed many Anti-Vigilante Task Force cops throughout the episode. But in the battle at Matt’s apartment, it was revealed that Officer Cole North was the one who shot Hector Ayala. Frank Castle spotted the skull logo on North’s bullet shell and asked Matt to kill him. While Matt decided against it, a grenade was tossed into the apartment to take them all down. Matt and Frank survived, but Cole North possibly died as he was lying unconscious in the apartment.
Everyone who survives Daredevil: Born Again’s finale and will return in Season 2
- Wilson Fisk and his supporters – Wilson and Vanessa Fisk are untouchable at the end. With them are Daniel Blake, Buck Cashman, Sheila Rivera, and AVTF leader Connor Powell.
- Heather Glenn – Appointed as Commissioner of Mental Health in Fisk’s administration.
- Frank Castle, aka the Punisher – Escapes in the post-credits scene.
- Jack Duquesne aka Swordsman – Caught in a cage at Red Hook. Castle might rescue him and others trapped in cages.
- Matt Murdock and his army – Karen Page reunites everyone at Josie’s to form Daredevil’s army. The ones in the scene were Josie herself, Cherry, Angie Kim, and a few cops who are actually against Fisk.
- Benjamin Poindexter, aka Bullseye – Appears in an apartment with broken glass (possibly his home).
- BB Urich – Shows up in the epilogue. She is threatened by Fisk’s power but is ready to take him down in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
- Angela Del Toro – Last seen on the streets, horrified by the AVTF members.
- Kirsten McDuffie – Last seen at her office going through Foggy Nelson’s unfiled motion.
As mentioned above, most of the Born Again supporting cast members survive and are expected to return in Season 2 alongside Daredevil.
