Ben Urich‘s murder was a significant event in Netflix’s Daredevil. With the revival series Born Again introducing audiences to his niece, BB Urich, who not only follows in his footsteps as a journalist but also references him in a conversation with Wilson Fisk, fans have become curious about who killed Ben Urich.

Wondering who cut Ben Urich’s life short? Here’s all you need to know.

Who killed Ben Urich in Daredevil?

Ben Urich was killed by Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.

Ben Urich painted a target on his back when he began looking into Wilson Fisk and his family history, and along with Karen Page, he visited Fisk’s mother, Marlene Vistain, for more information. He had started working on an article that exposed Fisk’s criminal activities and his involvement in the murder of his father, Bill Fisk. Urich later sent his written work to his editor, Mitchell Ellison, for review.

Ellison read Urich’s story but refused to publish it, claiming there was no evidence backing Urich’s report. This angered Urich, who called Ellison a sellout, resulting in the former’s suspension from the New York Bulletin. Urich’s suspension was immediately followed by his firing. This was when he insinuated that Ellison was being paid by Fisk to keep Urich from reporting on criminal activities.

Urich was not deterred by his firing. He affirmed to Karen Page that he would expose Fisk’s criminal activities by writing a blog.

Unfortunately, Urich could not succeed, as he was visited by Fisk in his apartment sometime later. Fisk apologized for underestimating the former’s capabilities.

Fisk then asked Urich if the latter was alone when visiting his mother, Marlene. To protect Page, Urich lied, saying that he was alone when doing so. The crime lord further questioned him, asking if he was behind James Wesley’s death. Urich expressed confusion, to which Fisk admitted his belief that Urich never killed Wesley. Urich retorted that he was not intimidated by Fisk. However, the latter stated that he was there to kill, not threaten, the former for involving his mother.

Fisk then strangled Urich to death. The crime lord then left Urich’s apartment, leaving the latter’s lifeless body behind.
